Prince Harry and Meghan 'privately reached out' to William and Kate after Princess of Wales' cancer news

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly quietly supporting Prince William and Kate following the news that the Princess of Wales has been diagnosed with cancer.?

Kate released a video statement early Saturday morning, sharing that she has been diagnosed with cancer.?

Two hours after the video was released to the public, Harry and Meghan shared a statement saying: "We wish health and healing for Kate and the family, and hope they are able to do so privately and in peace."

But now, People has also reported that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have privately reached out to the Prince and Princess of Wales.

A palace insider recently told the New York Post that the Duke and Ducchess "had no idea" about Kate's diagnosis, adding that they, "only learned of the news around the same time the rest of the world found out."

The insider continued: "This goes to show the irreparable damage they have caused. The trust has been broken and the royal family is OK distancing themselves from them."

The Princess of Wales shocked the world when she announced her diagnosis on Saturday.?

In her video statement, she shared that it had been an "incredibly tough couple of months for our entire family," adding that the diagnosis came as a "huge shock" to her and William.

"In January, I underwent major abdominal surgery in London and at the time, it was thought that my condition was non-cancerous," she explained.

"The surgery was successful. However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present. My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy and I am now in the early stages of that treatment."

The Prince and Princess of Wales recently left their home in Windsor along with their three children, George, Charlotte, and Louis, to spend the Easter School holidays together as a family at the country home on Sandringham Estate.
