Prince William and Kate share previously unseen wedding photo to celebrate 13th anniversary

Prince William and Kate celebrated their 13th wedding anniversary on Monday by sharing a previously unseen image from their big day.

Across the Prince and Princess of Wales' social media accounts they posted a black and white shot, taken by portrait photographer Millie Pilkington.

They kept the caption simple, stating: "13 years ago today!"

It's no doubt set to be a poignant anniversary จC their first since Kate's cancer diagnosis, which was announced in late March.?

The couple's royal wedding took place at Westminster Abbey on April 29, 2011, followed by a reception at Buckingham Palace with approximately 600 guests.

There was also a more intimate second evening reception for close family and friends.

Kate Middleton ?became the Duchess of Cambridge on that day before inheriting the Princess of Wales title after Queen Elizabeth's death in September 2022.

The royal bride wore a lace gown by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen, who would become a go-to designer for Kate.

Last year the couple released a more casual shot, showing the couple on their bikes in Norfolk and they skipped a post altogether in 2022.

William and Kate also released a special video, featuring all three of their children - Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

Pilkington appears to be a royal family favourite and is also the woman behind a number of other official royal portraits - including Prince George's 10th birthday image last year and a Father's Day shot last June with Prince William surrounded by his three kids.

More recently, Pilkington was behind the lens for the new image of King Charles and Queen Camilla, released by Buckingham Palace last week ahead of the first anniversary of their coronation in May.

The shot was taken in the gardens of Buckingham Palace a day after the couple's 19th wedding anniversary earlier this month.
