Prince Harry wanted the royals to have therapy because they 'didn't speak the same language' as him

Prince Harry wanted other members of the royal family to have therapy so they would be able to understand him better.

The Duke of Sussex encouraged the royals to seek help so they could speak the same language as him.

He made the revelations during a ?session with Dr Gabor Matจฆ in California on Sunday morning Australian time.

Speaking to the 79-year-old, a Hungarian-Canadian expert on "toxic trauma", Harry said he "did the thing of trying to encourage everyone [in his family] to do it" after benefitting from speaking to therapists, describing it as "necessary".

Of his desire for the royals to seek professional help, Harry said, "A lot of families are complicated, and a lot of families are dysfunctional as well".

He said therapy had taught him a "new language" and that "the people that I was surrounded by, they didn't speak that language".

Harry added: "So I actually felt more pushed aside and then I said to my therapist: 'OK, I've got a problem จC this is working for me...so that I can now live a truly authentic life and be genuinely happy and be a better dad for my kids, but at the same time I'm feeling more and more distant from my loved ones and my family, this is a problem'".

Of the changes therapy had on him, Harry said: "If I didn't know myself, how could members of my family know the real me?"

During that chat, the duke was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) triggered by the death of his mother Diana, when he was 12.?

Harry was also diagnosed with ?attention deficit disorder (ADD) by Matจฆ after reading Spare.

Matจฆ said Harry "should not be seen as a disease but as a normal response to abnormal circumstances" caused by the "stress" in his life.

Elsewhere during their session, Harry told Matจฆ Meghan had "saved" him and called the Duchess of Sussex an "exceptional human being".?

He also denied seeing himself as a "victim".?
