Kloots explained they get a cake, they sing happy birthday to Dada on his birthday and this year they went out to a restaurant that had become her and Cordero's favourite place.

Cordero died in 2020 from Covid-19 complications.

"So, I took Elvis there for Nick's birthday this year [with] my girlfriend and her fianc¨¦. And I'm getting Elvis all dressed up in a little, cute suit and talking about how it's Dada's birthday. And he goes, 'Will he be there?' So that's where we're at," she said.

Kloots said that Elvis can be very "frank" about the fact that his dad is not alive, because she has made it a priority for him to understand it.

But she does herself believe that her husband's spirit is watching over them.

"I believe that Nick watches over us every single day and is with Elvis at school and with us nowˇ But cognitively, I don't think he's fully aware of it right now," she said, adding "It's coming, though."

Kloots has spoken out about her struggles since losing Cordero, but in a beautiful tribute to their son on his birthday, opened up about how it felt to see him as a father.

Alongside a carousel of images of Elvis as a baby, she wrote: "I don't think you ever feel as close to your partner as you do on the day your child is born. It's a crazy and beautiful moment that I'll never forget. Nick was the cutest new dadˇ

"Elvis spent the first two days in the NICU and until I was strong enough to go he was running there every two minutes and taking every friend and family member to see his new son! He was SO PROUD. ?????? How time flies and so much changes but we will always have this day and these memories."
