Laura Byrne is back in her 'cat era' after bringing home rescue kitten Raspberry

By Rachael Gavin|

L?aura Byrne has announced the kitten she and her daughters chose during an adoption drive is finally home.

The radio host was already the proud owner of three-legged rescue dog Buster, who has become a family dog after Byrne married and welcomed two girls with Matthew 'Matty J' Johnson.

She decided a kitten would be the best fit for the family so she could grow up with a dog, instead of trying to get an older cat used to living with the bull Arab.

?Byrne had to wait to bring Raspberry home as she was the runt of the litter.

The kitten's addition to the family means Byrne lives up to her Instagram name @ladyandacat once more.

"?She's finally home and I'm back in my 'ladyandacat' era," she captioned a series of images on Instagram.

During a chat with 9honey Pets Byrne revealed that Johnson wasn't so keen on another pet given how busy the family is.?

It seems he might have come around to owning a cat, but isn't letting it show.?

Meanwhile Buster is still getting used to having a furry friend and could be seen giving Raspberry the cold shoulder in a short video shared by Byrne.?

"The girls are obsessed, @matthewdavidjohnson is clearly kitten smitten even if he won't admit itกญ and well, your brother will come around," she in her Instagram post.

"Welcome to the family Raspberry you funny little floof. A big thank you again to @sydneydogsandcatshome and @petstockfoundation - and your reminder to #adoptdontshop."

Byrne was keen to adopt her new pet and be an ambassador for the Petstock Foundation's ?National Adoption Month because of her experience with Buster.

The rescue pooch helped her heal from heartbreak and become good friends with his foster mother Vanessa, who was Byrne's neighbour at the time.

And then Vanessa ended up putting Byrne forward to be a contestant on The Bachelor where she met Johnson.?

"I can attest getting Buster to being this massive transformative time in my life because I wasn't as sad, I was saying 'yes' to new opportunities. I was putting myself outside of my comfort zone and it wouldn't have come about if I hadn't actually adopted him. So he's been a huge catalyst in my life," she told 9honey Pets.
