US mum says Bluey has 'taken over her family's life'

By Madhurima Haque|

Parents around the world are being educated about Australia by their Bluey obsessed kids. One such mum Kait, from the US, has told how her morning routine has had to change due to her little one's obsession with the Heeler family.

"Every Wednesday I have to get the tiny human up extra early so she can take out 'the bins' with me. I feel like my life has just become reenacting all the different episodes of Bluey," she explains in a TikTok video

"Who else's American child is out here speaking in an Australian accent?"

Australians who saw the Tiktok are proud of Bluey's impact as an international influencer.

"As an Australian - we are not sorry," said one commenter. "Bluey is a national treasure," declared another.

"I am LOVING that an Aussie show has taken over the kids market - everyone was talking with English accents through the Peppa Pig stage," said one Bluey fan.

"As an Australian who consumed a lot of American/Canadian media as a child, & now gets asked if I'm from the US/Canada, I feel like this is fair," pointed out another.

Other American parents shared the Aussie phrases their kids liked to say.

"My daughter says that 'Daddy is golfing with his mates'," said one.

"My daughter doesn't call our car trunk, the trunk ever. It's the 'boot'. We live in Oregon," shared another US mum.

"Yes! And she also says 'garage' in a very heavy accent," added Kait.
