Red Wiggle Caterina Mete reveals she previously suffered miscarriage during IVF

Red Wiggle Caterina Mete has revealed that she previously suffered a miscarriage after her first round of IVF.

Speaking to maternity brand ?The Innara, the children's performer detailed her journey with IVF, including the devastating moment she found out her first embryo transfer had resulted in a miscarriage.

"It was certainly a shock to find out I had miscarried," the 43-year-old shared.

"I spoke to lots of women about it and was surprised to find out how common it is. I think talking about it has helped me through the healing process."

Though she had previously revealed to friends and family that she was freezing her eggs, Mete was hesitant to tell them that she had started creating embryos ?"in case it didn't work."

She went on to try for her second embryo transfer, which led her to becoming pregnant with twin girls.

"It was truly a miracle!" she said, recalling, "The doctor who did my scan that day was a father of twins and their birthday was on the day of my scan, I told him it definitely was a good sign!"

Mete is excitedly preparing for her daughters' July birth?, sharing, "I'm so excited about motherhood and the journey it takes you on. I feel so lucky that I will have double the love, double the smiles and two little girls to share life with.

The television star recently opened up to 9honey Parenting ?about her decision to undergo IVF.

"I didn't want to have any regrets," she explained of the decision to do it on her own.

"I'm a person who likes to do things on their own and I'm happy with my own company so to speak.

"But I thought, 'I don't wanna have to wait for somebody who may or may not ever come' or may come years down the track. So I just thought I have to do this."
