Becca Ellis, of Manchester, had been told she would never fall pregnant naturally after lifesaving cancer treatment, including a donor stem cell transplant five years ?earlier, which put her in menopause.

Ellis uploaded a video to her TikTok account @octavia_bx this week, outlining how she went from being on holiday to finding out she was seven months pregnant.

She also posted a video to her Instagram account this week to tell the story of her son's birth after her earlier battle with cancer.

Ellis said her son was born on July 1, 2022 จC six years after she was diagnosed with a type of blood cancer, Hodgkin's Lymphoma.

"After various chemotherapies, radiotherapy and immunotherapies that weren't successful, the year after, in 2017, I had to have a stem cell transplant to make sure the cancer didn't return," she said, before thanking the donor who saved her life.

She said one of the side-effects of the treatment was infertility.

"I was told this before I had the transplant," she said, adding, "I had an ovary taken out and frozen to preserve my fertility."

After the treatment, she said she didn't have any periods and was told she had gone into medical menopause, and would not be able to fall pregnant naturally.

"Five years later he comes along. He is a little miracle. I didn't know I was pregnant until a week before he was born," she said.

Ellis said she had noticed she had put on some weight but "thought I was getting thick because I was eating a lot." She now realises she was "eating for two."

After putting "two and two together," she decided to do a pregnancy test on her return to Manchester.

Ellis saw a GP several days later, who told her that her high blood pressure was a symptom of pre-eclampsia.

She was admitted to hospital, where she underwent an emergency caesarean a few days later.

Her son was born at 28 weeks, and spent time in the neonatal intensive care ward.

"He got out of hospital recently and he has done so amazing. I am so proud of him. He has come a long way, we both have," she said.

Ellis said she wanted to make the video to tell their "crazy story" but also thank the UK health system for saving the life of her son and her own life, not ?once, but twice.

"Thank you to everyone who has been there for me and supported me," she said.

In a further post to Instagram today she shared photos of herself breastfeeding her son, whom she called "her angel." ?
