By Nikolina Koevska Kharoufeh |

A? Perth mum is being praised for the incredible Bunnings-themed birthday she threw for her three-year-old son, Remy, who is obsessed with the hardware store.

The toddler's birthday party was a hit with family and friends, so much so that the mum shared videos of the setup on TikTok leaving thousands in awe of her efforts.

Shay Chalmers spoke to 9Honey Parenting about the epic birthday which only cost her around $20 per person.

'We already had the water park and most of the big equipment - tables, chairs, gazebo, BBQ," the mum revealed.

Held on a perfectly sunny day in Perth, the birthday ?had everything you would typically find in the popular store.

From a lunch sausage sizzle, to a craft activity for the kids and ?even a gardening tent where kids were planting flowers in pots - no child was left bored at the event.

There were also Bunnings-themed decorations including tablecloths, party hats and the signature aprons adorned by Bunnings employees.

Chalmers said she decided on the theme well in advance as her little boy Remy has been obsessed with the store for forever.

"He is like his Dad! He points the stores out as we drive past. Because my husband and I are small business owners we spend quite a bit of time at Bunnings. Remy loves to grab the little trolley and pile it up with hardware!?" she said.

The excited mum also organised an impressive cake complete with tools you would find in the store as edible decorations.

Remy and his older sister were both dressed in complete Bunnings employee outfits including the signature red polo, green shorts, brown work boots and apron. ?

Each of the kids attending the party also walked away with a gift bag and the projects they worked on at the event including ?self-painted mugs and pot plants.

Chalmers told 9Honey Parenting the kids had a ball, "The plating station would have been the biggest hit. They could choose a flower and pot it themselves to take home?."

After sharing a video of the birthday party to her TikTok, mum Shay ?was applauded for her efforts. "This is a dream!," one person commented.

Another said, "That's so rad!" and others called it the "perfect Aussie party."

She has been blown away by the reaction, "I honestly cannot believe how far my TikTok has reached. Some of the best reactions have been by adults, who are now planning their own Bunnings birthday party?."

"I'm 27 and want a Bunnings-themed party for myself," one woman wrote.

Followers also complimented Remy's dad Roy on the impressive sausage sizzle he cooked up on the BBQ, "The snags look so perfect though!"?

Though, while she appreciates all the fuss, Chalmers does have a message for her kids, "Probably won't be able to top it for future party's. Sorry kids?!"

Following the increasing trend of Bunnings-themed kids' birthdays, the hardware store launched a Birthday Party Kit ?in 2022 which cost just $29.

Sadly, much to the collective disappointment of parents and kids across the country, the kits are apparently no longer available.

A Bunnings spokesperson confirmed to 9Honey Parenting that the packs were a "promotional item launched early last year that we no longer sell".

Nooooo. Say it ain't so!

There are currently a few kits available on eBay.

Bunnings do, however, offer a free tutorial on their website on how to create a Bunnings' birthday cake by Cake Artist Tigga Maccormack.
