Mum shocked by neighbour's 'cowardly' note complaining about her crying baby

By Nikolina Koevska Kharoufeh |

A? Sydney mum is seeking advice from fellow parents on how to deal with a 'petty' neighbour who contacted her to complain about her baby's 'disturbing' crying.

Caring for her ?sick 15-month-old son at home, the woman was gobsmacked when she found an anonymous note under her front door from one of the residents within her apartment block.

"I have a pretty good guess who it is but just wondering any advice on how to best approach this?" the mum wrote on a Facebook group where she posted a photo of the direct message.

The post on the Sydney Mums Facebook Group ?started with an explanation of the mum's current situation at home.

"For the past three weeks my little guy has had on and off fevers/daycare illnesses and as a result has been kept home," she wrote.

"This week has been especially rough as he's had a fever again and at night he's been waking every two hours because of his blocked nose/cough."

On top of a few disturbed nights, the mum says her little boy has also understandably been a little more emotional than usual.

"I put him down to go to the toilet, hang washing, make lunch, dinner, etc you name it - he'll scream bloody murder!?"

However, she did note this is very out of character for the toddler. When he isn't sick, she said, he is a very content child and doesn't wake very often at night.

"Might wake for a feed at 3/4am if he didn't have enough for dinner and then wake up for the day around 6.30/7am," she wrote on the post.

However, it seems the past week at home with the child has sent her neighbours over the edge.

"Please 6 long months we have been having very disturbing baby crying start early mornings," the note, which the neighbours slipped under the mum's front door, reads.

"Please find a solution?'s we need our sleep as much as you do."

Finishing the message, they claimed they wouldn't be the only neighbours who were bothered by the crying.

?The mum was so shocked, she turned to fellow parents for advice on how to deal with the awkward situation.

"I absolutely feel like being petty and sticking it up on my building's notice board, pinning some earplugs and writing 'here's your solution'," she suggested.

As expected, her post left hundreds of mums and dads ?outraged.

"Just ignore them. Obviously they either don't have children or too ignorant," one person commented on the post.

Another wrote, "Tell them they are welcome to come babysit and give you a break otherwise mind their own business.?"

Others pulled the neighbour up on choosing to remain anonymous"If that person can't even put their contact details on the note, they're probably a bit embarrassed for raising it."

However, a few people did suggest the mum try to find ways to help her baby stop crying so much.

"Can you get a carrier so you don't need to put him down to do those tasks?", one commented.
