'To the lady in seat 32E': Mum's heartfelt plea to 'find Becky' after hellish flight

By Naomi White|

A?s much shade as people love to throw at parents for taking kids on flights, no one has it harder than the mum or dad holding the child.

From trying desperately to quiet them, to the endless walks down the aisles and handing out snacks, ?all while feeling those dirty glances.... it can be a horrible experience.

So when one mum had used all her tricks before even boarding the plane, thanks to an earlier cancelled flight, she was worried. And when everything started to go wrong, it was the kindness of a strangerhat helped her make it through.

Now back on the ground, she's searching for the 'woman in seat 32E' who shared her flight from Gran Canariato (in Spain's Canary Islands) to London Stansted Airport, to thank her.

Anna Whitehouse, a UK-based journalist who posts under Mother Pukka on Instagram, shared her story in the hopes of tracking down the woman, named Becky.

"For leaning over and asking if I needed help on a four hour flight. Her name is Becky," she wrote.

"Our flight was cancelled and we were bumped on to another one. Snacks had all been eaten, kids were exhausted. We were separated as a family. Ryanair had an issue with delivering food on board," she wrote.

Anna said the mystery woman had been an incredible help for her during a challenging flight. (Instagram)

"It was three hours after asking for a drink and sandwich - and still nothing. My daughter was crying. I was near to crying. I asked and asked but nothing. I couldn't leave my seat because [my daughter] got upset every time I tried to."

Rather than scorn her, Becky turned around and calmed Anna right down.

"Becky turned around and said "you sit there and I'll sort this". She handed me raisins and an apple and disappeared down the aisle and came back with food, water and a toy."

After returning with snacks, Becky shared she had five kids of her own on the plane. ?

While the note was to Becky, Anna also acknowledged all the other people who had shown gestures of kindness since she'd had children. ?

"Those fleeting smiles across a busy cafe while breastfeeding. A woman offering up her seat as I wrangled two kids onto a bus. Knowing looks and kind understanding in the middle of tantrums. A woman in seat 32E leaning over and saying, 'I've got this'," she shared.

She then put the call out for Becky to get in touch, saying: "You helped more than you might realise."

Her post resonated with many followers, with many sharing their stories of finding their own 'Beckys' in difficult situations.

"I bloody LOVE this story! The world needs more Beckys," said one.

"My first ever flight with my eldest - he was one month old. I was so nervous about him crying and upsetting others. One of the cabin crew crouched down and looked me in the eye and said: "Mum your job is your baby, my job is the other passengers. We've got this." That was 16 years ago - never forgotten," said another.

"I've never experienced anything quite the same as the kindness of another woman when struggling with a little one. My daughter is only five months and already I've had some real guardian angel/mother moments that I'll never forget," added another.

"Always look out for the Beckys. They're all around (they're all of us)?," said a fourth.
