EXCLUSIVE: A Melbourne mum's dental emergency has gone viral after her one-year-old accidentally kicked her front tooth out in the middle of the night.

Kate ?Buckland woke up at 5am when her husband got up for work, which also woke up their son Bobby, who had been sleeping in his cot in his parents' room.

She picked him up and placed ?him into bed with her.

"We both kind of just fell back asleep, and when he wakes up in the morning, he really just kind of thrashes around," she told nine.com.au. ?

"I fell asleep facing him." ?

While sleeping, she started having a dream that she was being hit in the face... until she heard an all-too-real sounding crack, which jolted her awake.

"I was dreaming about getting hit in the head with a ball, then I felt this impact on my face, and then I heard this?crack... I sat up straight away.

"I grabbed my mouth and my tooth had come loose. He's just sitting there happy with himself; he's got no idea."

While it seems like Buckland's baby may be the strongest ?baby in the world, the tooth he headbutted out was actually an implant, not a real tooth.

?"I wasn't born with that particular tooth จC when I had braces they had to move my teeth around... I haven't had a tooth there ever since."

After a panicked call to her dentist, they managed to squeeze her in for an emergency appointment to refit her tooth.

?"[The dentist] actually said he'd never seen this, the fake teeth are meant to be pretty sturdy if you get hit.

"He actually said I was lucky that he didn't hit my real tooth because it would have snapped in half." ?

Buckland, a teacher, was encouraged by ?her husband to post a video about the incident on her Instagram account.

In the video, she is sitting in her car, recalling what happened that morning.

"?So, how is your Wednesday going? Mine is going great," she says as she begins to explain the story.

?"I heard a crack, my son, by accident because he is only one, has head-butted me and knocked out my tooth."

She then removes her hand and shows her smile, with one tooth missing from the side of her mouth.

One wrote: "Girl how did you not cry haha, oh my lord, the things our kids do to us!."

?Another user wrote, "as someone who is missing the exact tooth, just embrace it... it's a wild journey ahead."
