Influencer Jackie Miller James in coma due to brain aneurysm, one week before due date

By Madhurima Haque|

An American influencer has slipped into a coma, having suffered a brain aneurysm just one week before her due date, which put both herself and her baby at risk.

35-year-old Jackie Miller James, a beauty and lifestyle digital creator was due to welcome her baby girl next week, was found unconscious in her home by her husband, Austin.

She was rushed to the emergency room.

According to the GoFundMe page established by the soon-to-be mum's sisters, Nicole and Nicelle, James underwent an emergency C-section to deliver her daughter at the same time surgeons were performing brain surgery for the "severe brain bleeding and injury" caused by the ruptured aneurysm.

According to ?the Mayo Clinic, most brain aneurysms don't rupture or cause any symptoms or health problems.

"However, a ruptured aneurysm quickly becomes life-threatening and requires medical treatment right away."

Her daughter was delivered safely, spending 12 days in the NICU before going home.

But James has no knowledge that she has already given birth, having slipped into a coma, following which she has undergone five more brain procedures.

They did have a chance to "meet", with the family making sure to take a picture of the newborn on her mother's chest as she lay unconscious.

The family aim to raise $USD250,000 ($377,000), having been warned that after James wakes up, there will be added costs on top of what insurance covers, including "speech therapy, physical therapy, home modifications, and alternative therapies once we realise the severity of her deficits."

"If Jackie and the baby arrived a few minutes later at the hospital, we likely would have lost both of them," the sisters wrote.

"But instead, Jackie is continuing to fight for her life each day and we are optimistic she can beat the odds by surrounding her with the right specialists and methods of therapy.

"While the road will be long, we are committed to bringing Jackie home to her daughter and husband."
