'R is for...': Dad found himself stumped by children's book

By Georgia Weir|

Children's books enrich the minds of your kids, they can transport you to wondrous worlds and teach important morals. But sometimes, children's books can be downright confusing.

One dad found himself stumped by a seemingly innocuous bed time story and took to Reddit to share the puzzling question.

The dad said he was reading an 'I Spy' book with his child when he got to the letter 'R' and nothing on the page seemed to begin with the letter 'R'.

Redditors were stumped and could not seemingly find anything beginning with 'R' on the page/ (Reddit)

?"I thought I was stupid because I couldn't figure out which one started with R," the dad captioned the Reddit post.

On the page there is a picture of a ship, a car, a seaplane, a train, an aeroplane and a sailboat.

The dad was seemingly not alone as the Reddit post stumped thousands of other people who could not figure out what started with 'R'.

"None of them start with R. They all start with gas or the wind," one Redditor jokes.

"This is what happens when you order a book off Wish," said another.

Another user speculated, "Why does nobody realise that the car is a Renault?"

Other Redditors who also had the book revealed that 'R' is in fact for 'rowboat'.

Other Redditors revealed that they too, have this children's book and that 'R' is for 'rowboat' despite the picture showing a sailboat. (Reddit)

"We have this book!! The answer is the sailboat, which they call a "rowboat". We hate it, which is probably why our daughter loves it," vented one user.

"Calling shenanigans! This 'rowboat' doesn't even have oars... and it has sails! That, my friend, is a sailboat," said another.
