New parents know only too well about the anxiety that comes with welcoming a new baby, especially if it's your first.
Suddenly you see danger everywhere you look and imagine the worst-case scenarios.
Now US funnyman and Saturday Night Live star Colin Jost has spoken about the dangers lurking inside and outside the home ?he shares with Hollywood actress Scarlett Johansson, who is the mother of his 13-month-old son Cosmo.
?Jost, 40, was appearing on Late Night with Seth Meyers when the conversation turned to what fears he had when it came to being a parent.
"I think when you have a decent imagination, it's worse," he said. "You don't have rational fears, you have creative fears."
Surprisingly, he said they had done little to address "rational fears" in their home by babyproofing.
"Every electrical outlet is wide open, and some of them are the old ones, where they have baby-finger sized holes," he said.
He added "every table" in their home was filled with "glass objects" designed to choke or maim a small child.
He showed a photo of one piece of art that contained four glass balls.
"No offence to the wonderful artist, but this is for baby choking," he said, adding it was so dangerous it was acting as a deterrent to his baby son.
"I think he looks at them and thinks, 'This is too obvious a choking hazard. I can't fall for this'."
Jost went on to reveal that his "number one fear" of what could happen to his son was being snatched by an eagle.
He joked that with the bald eagle population increasing in the US, it could lead to "competition for food."
And Johansson was not helping matters?.
"We go for walks and I'm scanning the horizon. I'm on eagle watch," he said. "And she's got Cosmo in the stroller, and Scarlett puts a little hat on his head that has mouse ears on the hat.
"And I'm like, 'You're dressing our baby like food'."
Just last week, ?Johansson revealed during an appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show, how they came up with their son's unusual name.
After joking they "threw a bunch of letters in the air," she revealed it had a link to the name of her daughter, ?Rose, 8, adding they were both named after flowers.
"Cosmo is a really sweet little flower that comes in different shades of orange and yellow. That's why my daughter liked it too," she said.
Johansson shares Rose with former husband Romain Dauriac, a French journalist whom she married in 2014 and divorced three years later.
During an interview with InStyle earlier this year, Johansson said Rose had begun questioning her about her grooming routine.
"She will ask, 'Why are you tweezing your eyebrows? Why are you curling your lashes? What's a tampon? What's it for?', she said.
"She asked me why my underwear went up my butt crack. I was like, 'Cause you don't want a line in your pants' and she was like 'Why?' and I was like, 'Cause then you could see my underwear.' [But] she was like 'But you are wearing underwear'. Like, I know, it's weird."
