Actor Matthew Broderick shares rare update about his three children: 'All grown up'

M?atthew Broderick can't believe his kids are so grown up.

The actor and husband of Sarah Jessica Parker, sat down with fellow parents and hosts of Live! With Kelly and Mark, Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos, to speak about his three kids for the first time in a long time.

"He's an adult, he's 20. He's 20. Man, we've all grown up," Broderick said, about son James, now 20 years old, and twin daughters Tabitha and Marion, who are about to turn 14.

"I can't believe James Wilkie is an adult!" host Ripa says in the candid interview.

He is then asked by Consuelos how his twin girls are going.

"They're great. They can be nice to their dads, usually. They can be a little hard on the mums sometimes. But..."

The actor then pauses, realising his daughters may be watching and he may need to be careful what he says.

"Got it, got it!" the hosts say as the studio audience laughs along.

However, the father then reveals his twin daughters are getting ready for a big transition in their lives.

?"They're going to high school next year so they're very excited about that. Big step in their lives."

Then when asked what their relationship is like as twin sisters, Broderick revealed that it's constantly changing.

"They said they wanted to go to separate high schools, they were very serious about that. ?But then when it was time to decide for real they were like, 'No we're going to the same high school'."

"They're extremely close?, but they also definitely want their own space, and their own friends, and their own time."

He said ?Tabitha and Marion seemed to have found a good balance, revealing more about their unique relationship as twins.

Host Ripa then congratulates Broderick and wife Sarah Jessica Parker on raising such lovely children.

"They're nice behind your backs! Like when you're not there, they're still nice," she says. To which Broderick responds, "That's the important thing." ?

The actor married, Sex and The City star, Sarah Jessica Parker in 1997, with the couple celebrating their 26th wedding anniversary last month.

They welcomed son James in 2002, and ?the twins through a surrogate in 2009.
