By Nadia Scurria|

In the ever-changing world of social media, it's a sad reality that trolling and online bullying also seems to be getting worse.

One woman was left in utter disbelief after learning one of her so called 'best friends' was trolling her online over her TikTok videos, and has shared her story anonymously with The Girls Overheard podcast to seek advice.

"Caught my friend trolling me on social media," podcast host Eilidh Wells read out on the listener's behalf.

"?I've been making fashion videos online for about six months now and working towards making it an income for me.

"My friends haven't been supportive at all, they don't like or comment on any of my stuff and I can tell they think it's cringe."

The woman was devastated when she discovered, via a TikTok notification, that her friends had been leaving mean anonymous comments on her videos, trolling her content.

"Recently I sent the link for my TikTok into a group chat?, basically to say, 'This is what I'm wearing tonight'," Wells continued.

"Later that night I get a notification to say 'user 736-blah-blah' viewed the video that you shared."

"It took me a second to realise it's the same user who regularly leaves negativity on my videos."

Co-hosts Ash Reid and Lauren Kerr were completely shocked by the story.

Listeners were also shocked after hearing the anecdote, and shared their opinions as to what the victim should do in TikTok comments.

One user wrote, "I would start posting pics of the friends outfit as 'what not to wear.'"

"That's not a friend that's a secret enemy, true friends are very rare," another person said.

One user also offered their support saying, "Share your TikTok lass, and we will blow up, who needs enemies when you have pals like that x?."
