Scandinavian sleeping hack for couples to end pesky cover-hogging: 'It is life-changing'

By April Glover|

A well-rested woman has shared her genius strategy for ensuring your partner never steals the covers in bed again.

Swedish TikTok star Cecilia Blomdahl, 25, offered followers a "hack" she claims is a known Scandinavian trick for making beds.

The hack supposedly allows both sleeping partners to use their own duvet during the night, ensuring no "cover hogger" ruins their sleep.

In a clip posted to TikTok, Blomdahl films herself making a double bed with two small duvets tucked under a larger blanket.

"I think the way we do our beds is pretty common in Europe," she narrated the video.

"We have this sheet on the bed mattress, and the bed mattress is kind of like a thinner mattress that you have on top of two other mattresses."

The first step involves simply putting a fitted sheet on top of the mattress.

Then, Blomdahl places two duvets in the middle of the bed, ensuring each person has their own separate blanket.

"Yes we have two duvets here," she added. "I could never live with one."

Finally, she added pillow covers and a bedspread to her bed to complete the final look.?

The video, which has close to 500,000 views, sparked a deluge of comments who enjoyed this bedding revelation.

"We recently got 2 duvets and it's been the best choice for the longevity of our marriage," one person shared.

"Me, a European, trying and failing to imagine any other way," another joked.

Others said they had discovered the duvet trick while on holiday in a Scandinavian country and never went back.

Another added: "Honestly the first time I experienced 2 duvets was in Iceland and it was LIFECHANGING."

"I went to Sweden back in 2016 and ever since then I've used two duvets. It's the best thing ever but rare in the US," one wrote.

According to the Scandinavia Standard, using two duvets on a double bed is standard practice across countries such as Denmark, Iceland and Sweden.

It claims duvets help regulate each person's body temperature, resulting in a more comfortable sleep.
