These roommates were having a minor disagreement when someone found a marker

Tension between some roommates has culminated in angrily-written notes after one of them found a marker and let loose.
"This last month of the lease has been extremely hostile I posted before but one my roommates keeps writing on all the objects in the house to try and get her point across," one of the residents explained on Reddit's '?Annoying Roommates' thread
"She even wrote on my Brita [water jug] I bought 'please refill after use.'"
Their latest fight has been over the kitchen bin.

The roommate wrote on the bin: "If this lid doesn't shut, it's your turn to take the trash out."
They added a passive-aggressive love heart to the end of the message.
The roommate responded by sticking a post-it note on the bin with a message that read: "Can we please stop writing on household objects?"
Redditers were quick to offer advice... on how to remove the Sharpie message from the household objects.?

"You can get it off if you draw over it with a dry erase marker and then wipe it off with a towel," one said.
"Acetone works best. (Nail polish remover) It's how we get sharpie/permanent marker labels off of our equipment in the chemistry lab," another added.

"Dry erase markers or rubbing alcohol should help," said another helpful Redditer.?
One Redditer suggested: "I'd remove all my belongings from the common areas?."
Another suggested they "round up those sharpies" and "make them disappear."
"At least she put a heart at the end," one said.
Some did defend the sharpie-wielding roommate.
"I understand the frustration my roommates do this as well, put stuff in the trash till it won't shut, they also do the same with the recycling bin and they they start stacking stuff on top of it," one said.

The original poster did comment that he has some understanding of where his roommate is coming from "cuz my 2 other roommates literally don't do sh-t like we both have to do their dishes but like goddamn she's been writing on everything..."

"You can use ethanol or isopropyl alcohol to get rid of marker stains," another said.?
