Husband's tattoo exposes devastating secret: 'He eventually admitted it'

?A woman whose husband got a tattoo couldn't help but feel a little unsettled by his choice.
She tells Reddit's 'Two Hot Takes' thread he'd never gotten one before and had never mentioned wanting one.
"He said he started thinking about it because one of his sisters married a man who had several tattoos," she explained on the forum.
"It made him realise he wanted one."

Her husband chose to get a tattoo of a lily on the left side of his chest.
"I didn't really like it but I didn't comment because he is free to do what he wants with his body," she continued.

She moved on from the disquiet, however, a little over a year later, he added some ivy around the lily tattoo.
That wasn't the only incident causing her anxiety.
Her husband had also stopped inviting her to work events and parties.
"He started telling me I couldn't because of the pandemic which made sense a few years ago but things began opening back up and events were more normal," she writes.
He finally relented and brought her to a work event, which is when she met one of her husband's female colleagues from his department. Her name was Lily.
"My husband swore it was a coincidence," she said. "I had tried to ignore my feeling about him suddenly wanting a tattoo. He eventually admitted they have been having an affair for the last two years."
She said she was so shocked she didn't even think about the ivy, until her husband told her that Lily had given birth to a baby named Ivy and he had gotten the tattoo after her birth.

"He begged me not to get a divorce but I can't forgive this," she said. "We have to be separated for a year before we get divorced."
Their own daughter is turning 18 next months so the divorce will "not be complicated" and she plans to move on with her life as quickly as possible.
Confusingly, her husband wants to try to save their relationship.
"Part of me is still in shock," she confessed. "He wants to go to counseling but I can't.
"We have been married for 19 years and I let him convince me my feelings about his tattoo were wrong."
She ended her post by saying she never thought she'd be "43 and getting a divorce but here I am."
Redditors were equally shocked by her husband's behaviour.
"So he had an affair for TWO YEARS HAD A CHILD WITH his POS AP and wants to work on the marriage now?" one writes. "What in the world, is he on drugs? Good for you for standing up for yourself, I'm sorry you and your daughter are going thru this. Is your daughter okay??"
"He is not sorry about what has happened, he is sorry he got caught," another said.
Another commented: "You are showing a considerable amount of strength by not appearing to go scorch earth with this situation."
"I'm sorry that he betrayed you. People like him are just absolute trash," one said.
"I'm so sorry for you .. I hope when the divorce is final you're able to find some peace and meet someone who's actually worthy of you," said another.?
