Footballer caught swiping Tinder in team photo delivers cheeky comeback

A Welsh footballer who was caught out in a team photo scrolling through a popular dating app has delivered the perfect comeback.

Jay Foulston, a defender with Taunton Town Football Club จC a semi-professional football club based in South West England จC was sitting on the team's coach on the weekend swiping through Tinder when someone snapped a group photo.

In the image Foulston, from Wales, can be seen pausing on the profile of a blonde woman with the profile name Alexandra as his teammates react.

The photo was posted to the club's official Twitter account overnight with the caption:? "Hopefully Jay's Tinder is working its magic off the pitch whilst he does so on the pitch."

In the hours since it was posted the image has gone viral with more than 420,000 views.

It has also attracted some fan commentary.?

"Anyone contacted the young lady for comment? Some pre-match warm up that," one Twitter user wrote in response to the photo.

"Jay's got game," another wrote.

?"We need to know what happened next...," yet another wrote.

The 22-year-old footballer joined in the quips, taking to Twitter to first feign offence at club photographer Debbie Gould for posting the snap online.

"Cheers Deb," he tweeted with two laughing face emojis.?

As the photo began appearing on other sporting social media sites his cheeky replies continued.

"Mam I made it," he wrote, with a laughing face emoji.

He then appeared to answer the question followers were keen to know?.

"It worked," he tweeted, adding a green tick emoji.?
