Festive trees and decorations already spotted all over Sydney, 53 days before Christmas

Christmas-obsessed councils and festive-loving locals have already torn down their Halloween decorations and replaced them with Christmas trees all around Sydney.

This morning, Australians have woken up to tinsel, baubles and sparkling lights 53 days before December 25.

Locals have already spotted trees pop up around North Sydney, Blacktown and Chatswood just two days after the spooky season ended.

Not everyone, however, is ready to embrace the festive spirit yet for 2022.

Disgruntled callers dialling into Ben Fordham's radio show on 2GB were shocked at the sheer volume of Christmas-themed advertisements and decorations which are snowballing around the country.?

Some claimed it was far too "early" for Australians to be bombarded with it, nearly two months before Christmas Day.

Meanwhile, one shopper in Westfield Chatswood noticed a Christmas tree at his local shopping centre on October 29.

"Good to see the Christmas trees appearing in time for Halloween," Bemused shopper Craig joked on Twitter.

ESPN journalist Andrew McGlashan also shared his dismay after noticing his favourite coffee shop had already put up decorations.

"My local cafจฆ has put up their Christmas tree. I might have to find a new place for coffee," he wrote on October 29.

However, one shopper at Blacktown Westpoint was more than happy to spot a giant Christmas tree at the shopping mall which had been set up overnight, ready for customers on November 1.

"Starting to look a lot like?Christmas at Westpoint, Blacktown," one woman, Cindy, shared.

Workers around North Sydney were surprised to see a Christmas display complete with a tree and tinsel pop up in the middle of the town square on Melbourne Cup day.

Shopping centres and supermarkets around the country have already started stocking up on decorations and non-perishable Christmas food.

Balmain Woolworths had a festive-themed set up around the self-serve checkouts, complete with baubles, napkins and Christmas biscuits ready to go in late October.

David Jones is also hoping to capitalise on the Christmas rush early. Its festive campaign 'The Christmas Shop of Wonder' launched on November 2.

The department store giant is stocked up with "festive dจฆcor, intricate ornaments and magnificent trees", according to a Christmas-themed email sent to shoppers.

And if you're wanting to secure a real-life Christmas tree in early November, a family-owned Queensland business is opening to the public on November 5.

Die-hard Christmas fans can pick up a real pine Christmas tree at Chrissy Trees 4 U, in Kingaroy, Queensland, from Friday. The prices range from $70 for a 1.5m tree to $155 for 2.7m.

Aldi Australia's cult-favourite pre-lit Christmas trees are also available in-store from Wednesday, November 2.?
